One interesting fact about The Philadelphia Foundation is that Ben Franklin is one of our donors.  In 1790 Ben Franklin left 1,000 pounds sterling to the City of Philadelphia to hold and use for 200 years because he wished “to be useful even after my death, of possible.”  After 200 years, the City reviewed proposals and awarded the fund to The Philadelphia Foundation which it uses to support education in crafts and trades.
